5th September – The cult classic by Jack Kerouac “On The Road” was published on this day in 1957. This ‘coming of age’ tale helped define the iconic 1950’s Beat Generation.

13th September – On this day in 1916 Roald Dahl was born. Today this date is celebrated in the UK as Roald Dahl day in honour of the famous children’s book author.

15th September – Crime-thriller author Agatha Christie was born in 1890 and went on to sell over 2 billion copies of her books worldwide.

19th September – Our favourite witch Hermione Granger was born on this day in 1979.

24th September – The Great Gatsby author, F Scott Fitzgerald was born in 1896. Considered a member of the Lost Generation of the 1920’s, Fitzgerald only published 4 novels in his lifetime.
